Event description

Description

From 29 September to 11 November 2018, Dechen London: Sakya Buddhist
Centre will host A Road To Clarity; A Retrospective Exhibition of Paintings
and Prints by the Dutch visual artist, Molly Van Der Weij.

Sakya Buddhist Centre in Notting Hill

Dechen London is a recognised Sakya Buddhist centre and one of the seats of Lama Jampa Thaye, founder and spiritual master of the Dechen community, an international Tibetan Buddhist organisation following the Karma Kagyu and Sakya traditions. Lama Jampa teaches throughout the world to his students and students from other sanghas. Dechen London moved premises in 2017 and has since received and hosted visits and teachings of great masters such as HH the 42 nd Sakya Trizin, Karma Thinley Rinpoche and Lama Kunga Thartse Rinpoche.

To celebrate the qualities of our fellow wanderers on this courageous path, Dechen London has opened its doors to share these qualities with all who value culture, art and music and its link with Buddhism. After an initial exhibition by the artist Jean Veasey, an East End thangka painter, it is now the turn of Molly Van Der Weij, who has lived in the UK since 2006 and has been practising the dharma since 2007.

The Artist, Molly van der Weij

Molly is a Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts and an award-winning communication designer who has used her artistic skills for the benefit and service of communication all her working life. Alongside her work on commission, consultancy projects and design research, Molly always continued to work on her own art projects. With A Road To Clarity she will, for the first time, show exclusively a series of her paintings.

Exclusive Limited Edition Artwork

Artworks will be for sale as Limited Edition High Quality prints (25), numbered and signed by the artist. An exhibition catalogue will be available during the exhibition and will have more information about the paintings, the artist and the purchase of original artworks.
