A Safari through the History of Painting

We are thrilled to announce that fine art curator, Lucy Chiswell will be our guest expert for an exclusive online event for DSWF supporters on:

Wednesday 3rd March 2021

6:30-7:30pm GMT

Attendance is FREE with a suggested donation if you are able, to help fund DSWF’s vital conservation work across Africa and Asia.

What to expect during the event?

Having handpicked a small selection of Old Master paintings, Lucy will be your guide on a journey that showcases wild animals and their depiction throughout the history of art.

Throughout the evening she will share her expert knowledge and artistic interpretation of masterpieces by artists including Titian, Jan Brueghel the Elder and Rubens

The evening will be hosted online via Zoom and will last approximately 40 minutes followed by a short Q&A.

Spaces are limited so early registration is encouraged.

About our Expert:

Lucy Chiswell is an art historian and curator living in London.

Formerly Assistant Curator at the Royal Academy of Arts, where she worked on exhibitions including In the Age of Giorgione (2017), Charles I: King and Collector (2018) and The Renaissance Nude (2019).In 2019, Lucy founded Cult, an initiative that encourages young adults to engage with the visual arts. She completed her MA at the Courtauld Institute of Art, specialising in the Italian Renaissance.

Lucy is a long-term supporter of the foundation and like DSWF is committed to helping turn the tide on extinction through the power of art.
