Meet Me At The Cemetery Gates: Sunday 20th March
Artists Afreena Islam-Wright and Mark Croasdale take you on an interactive storytelling journey in your local cemetery.
Grab your smartphone and a pair of headphones and walk with them as they share their stories: stories of funerals, of loss of loved ones and strangers, of longing and avoiding, of religion and faith…
This new work-in-progress show explores our relationship with grief and the spaces connected to it.
This is an individual audio piece that can be played at any time during the day in any cemetery: then join us for a drink in the Coney Zoom Bar to meet the artists and share stories.
Date, time and location
Audio adventure: Sunday 20th March, between 10am and 5pm, in any cemetery (you will receive a link to play the experience on Friday 18th March)
Post-show discussion and social: Sunday 20th March, 5-5.45pm, on Zoom
Playtime: the outdoor adventure takes between 45 and 75 minutes, depending on your pace and how you decide to play. You can start anytime that suits you, but there will be a post-show discussion with the artists and other audience at 5pm in the Coney Zoom bar so we would recommend to start no later than 3pm.
What you need: a charged smartphone with access to mobile data and a pair of headphones
Content note: perhaps unsurprisingly, the piece touches on themes of death and grief, but hopes to do that as gently as possible
Age guidance: 16+
Tickets: Free / Pay-what-you-decide
Access notes: Please contact us if you have any access requirements and we will endeavour to assist.
