A Sheffield Journey: Short walk and creative workshop
Event Information
About this event
Everyone welcome. Children must be accompanied.
During the recent pandemic, The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse by Charlie Mackesy captured imaginations, inspired kindness, and offered hope to hundreds of thousands of people. Readers of all ages were inspired by the voyage, honesty, and friendship encountered in the book.
Join us as we begin our own Sheffield Journey. You are invited to take a short walk with other Sheffielders and share some of the wisdom you’ve acquired during the pandemic. We’ll be joined by a local illustrator, Ste Johnson and after the walk return to the library and record our conversations within sketches and paintwork, all inspired by the stunning illustrations of Charlie Mackesy
Following the workshops, Ste will interpret the recorded wisdom and produce a series of illustrated postcards with a Sheffield flavour. These will then be distributed around community locations citywide.
Funded by Libraries Connected. Part of the Novels that Shaped the World project.
