Event description
A recovery conversation with special guest Joe Harkness from BBC's Winterwatch.

About this event

Joe Harkness writes and speaks about the benefits of birdwatching for mental health and wellbeing. He is the author of the book ‘Bird Therapy’ and has also written for numerous publications, as well as speaking at a range of events and appearing on BBC Winterwatch alongside Chris Packham; who wrote the foreword to Joe’s book.

Joe speaks openly about his background; navigating a diverse range of challenges and negative choices, which aren’t always an easy listen. His aim has always been to provide a more relatable and realistic perspective to the nature and conservation narrative. A keen naturalist, he resides in Norfolk and works in special education.

Recovery Conversations are a series of online talks and discussions with experts in the three areas that Write to Freedom use as lenses for our addiction recovery work - Nature Connection, Mindfulness and Creativity.

These talks are free and open to everyone, whether in recovery, or not. You might be curious about what we do, or have participated with us already, or are simply interested in the topic of today’s talk. You’re welcome to join, and we look forward to connecting.
