About this event

Since 1707, Fortnum & Mason has championed the exceptional work and time-honoured making methods of talented artisans around the world.Earlier this year, we added a new chapter to that storied history, by launching a search for the UK & Ireland’s very best new and undiscovered food and drink producers.

And now, after an impossibly competitive and very delicious judging process, we’re delighted to introduce the winners of our first Open Call – each of which will soon be found on the shelves at Fortnum's.

About Isle of Bute Distillery:

We are proud to work with one of our Fortnum & Makers, Isle of Bute Distillery. An independent, female-led producer from the Scottish island of the same name, Isle of Bute Distillery has been creating small batch spirits rich with local provenance and coastal character since 2018. A world first, their gin is uniquely crafted using wild Scottish oyster shells – lending each sip a delicate salinity.

About this session:

In this session, we’ll be hosting an gin tasting showcasing Isle of Bute hand crafted small batch oyster gin, as well as understanding more about their brand and how they produce their exceptional oyster gin.

In this 30 minute tasting, you will be able to try oyster gin which are stocked at Fortnums. You will also learn and understand the taste, aroma of the gin which celebrates local provenance and coastal character

The tasting will be led by the co-founder of Isle of Bute Distillery, Rhona Madigan Wheatley, who champions female producers. Their work directly supports the island economy and plays a key role in championing regional craft, local up-skilling and Scottish Tourism.

This ticket will include a bottle of Isle of Bute Oyster Gin 20cl.
