‘The Neatherd’ is a significant and well-loved area in Dereham. Our walk starts from the town centre, quickly reaching Neatherd Moor and leaving 8. We circle an area of the Moor before heading north along other byways to the handful of buildings making up Northall Green. Continuing north we will reach and join the course of Norfolk’s newest Trail - the Wensum Way. Our return journey can be shortened by following the Dereham link to the Wensum Way along the road, but we will make a diversion to walk through extensive woodland and then across Rushmeadow, recently taken over by Norfolk Wildlife Trust. A quiet back route brings us back into the town centre.
Any other information: Toilets are available at the start and end of walk. Bring a packed lunch as a stop for lunch is planned. Local services will also be available for refreshments at the end of the walk.
