A STRONGER AND SAFER COMMUNITY
Overview
🍷 Understanding Alcohol Addiction
Hosted by DAAS – Derbyshire Addiction Advice Service 📍 Chesterfield Fire Service Community Room 🕡 Monday 12th January | 6:30pm – 8:00pm 👩🦰 For women aged 18+
DAAS (Derbyshire Addiction Advice Service) is part of the Derbyshire Recovery Partnership, offering support to anyone aged 18 and over living in Derbyshire (excluding Derby City) who is affected by substance misuse—whether their own or someone else’s.
As many of us navigate the aftermath of Christmas indulgence and step into the intentions of Dry January, this is the perfect moment to pause, reflect, and learn. Join us for our second of two empowering sessions led by Carita from DAAS.
This workshop will raise awareness around alcohol addiction and highlight the support services available. Through interactive props and engaging discussion, Carita will explore the physical and behavioural effects of excessive alcohol consumption, helping attendees better understand the risks and realities.
Knowledge is power. Recognising the difference between seasonal enjoyment and creeping dependency is vital. As someone who has personally experienced the impact of addiction—albeit through shopping—I understand how quickly it can affect your mental health and financial wellbeing.
Funded by the Derbyshire Police and Crime Commissioner’s Stronger and Safer Communities project, this FREE session offers a judgement free and supportive space, as we move into a fresh new year.
Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and connect with others in a welcoming environment. Refreshments included.
Please reserve your place in advance.
