A Symphonic Christmas

John Rutter's fabulous Gloria for choir and brass is joined by Tchaikovsky's eternal Christmas music of The Nutcracker. Anderson's Sleigh Ride and other festive pieces complete this fun family concert. There will be plenty of audience participation too!
The Choir of St Mary's, Maldon is one of the most celebrated choirs in Essex known for its exceptionally high standard of singing and musicianship. Founded in 2008 by professional musician, opera singer, author (The Student Voice) and singing teacher Colin Baldy, the choir has since been invited to sing in venues accross the UK, Europe and the United States including: Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle and St Thomas', 5th Avenue (New York City).
Founded in 1967 and conducted for many years by the late Joseph Proctor, the Lewisham Concert Band soon found fame for its numerous BBC Radio 2 broadcasts during the 70s and 80s on Friday Night is Music Night and Listen to the Band. Today, under the musical direction of Benjamin James, it is still one of the South East’s most highly-regarded wind bands and consists of professional and amateur musicians based in London and the Home Counties.
The band's performance venues, ranging from Somerset to Norfolk, have included Hever Castle, Eltham Palace, Southwark Cathedral, Epsom Playhouse, Catford Broadway, Blackheath Concert Halls, and Cantley House in Wokingham.
The band has also undertaken tours to Berlin to represent the borough of Lewisham as well as visiting Amsterdam and Wittlich.
