A TA Roadmap to Improve Communication and Connection in ADHD Couples
Overview
A CPD workshop for 2026 focused on supporting couples (romantic, cohabiting, married, or long-term) who want to strengthen understanding and communication where one partner has ADHD and the other is neurotypical.
Did you know that 1 in 7 couples in therapy include one partner with ADHD? This means many of our couple clients may be navigating these challenges, whether they've shared this with us or not.
Additionally, 25-50% of adults with ADHD are undiagnosed, meaning many therapists treat couples’ conflict without recognising the underlying disorder. ADHD-aware interventions have been shown to reduce couple distress by up to 60%.

Jenny Duarte
Hello. I am a psychotherapist, supervisor and trainer with 25 years of experience, including 15 in private practice. I specialise in helping individuals and couples navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, and neurodivergent conditions such as ADHD, ASC, PDA, and dyslexia. My approach is tailored, goal-oriented, and evidence-based, drawing from Transactional Analysis, CBT, and relational therapies. In addition to my clinical work, I provide supervision for other therapists, and college students in training. As someone with ADHD and a parent of neurodivergent children, I understand these challenges firsthand, and my sessions—for both clients and supervisees—provide a safe and structured space for growth.
