A talk on 'The Art of Death'

Chairman, Kevin Gordon will be giving a talk called ‘The Art of Death’. He will be touching on the history of burial and showing pictures of some ancient graves. He will talk about the prevalence of memento-mori in medieval times and the Victoria craze for mourning which coincided with the creation of cemeteries. Kevin will finish with examples of how death is depicted in art.

The meeting will also be an opportunity to catch up on the amazing work that has been done by the Friends of Ocklynge cemetery in the last year.
