A talk on the history of the bi community in the UK
Event Information
About this Event
Jen Yockney MBE is one of the most prominent bi community activists in the UK, having worked on giving the bi+ community support and a voice for the past 20+ years. In 2016 she was awarded an MBE for Services to the Bisexual Community in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
Jen will talk about the history of the bi+ community and her activism since 1994, covering her involvement with BiPhoria, the longest running bi social and support group in the UK, leading BiCon in 2000 and 2004, and her vision for what became the Bisexuality Report, a publication that brought together research into bisexuality in Britain that helped push bi+ inclusion up the agenda of many LGBT organisations.
The event will be hosted on Zoom. Meeting details will be circulated in advance of the event.
