This conference aims to generate a discussion about the cross-cultural influences in dress and textiles by considering how these ideas were transferred, disseminated and exchanged as well as the ways in which these cultural interactions were used to form connections and foster relationships between different people and places.

Is there any accommodation near Abegg-Stiftung?

There is no accommodation in Riggisberg. All attendees are advised to seek accommodation in Bern. The hosting institution recommends the Bern Youth Hostel as a suitable accommodation. Chartered buses will operate from Bern to Abegg-Stiftung for both days of the conference.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

Transport by chartered bus from Bern to Riggisberg in the mornings and back in the evenings have been arranged by the hosting institution Abegg-Stiftung. Please make sure to tick the option to take this chartered bus in your registration form. We strongly recommend that you use the chartered bus as public transport would take much longer and it will only take you as far as Riggisberg, but not Abegg-Stiftung.

What are my meal options during the event?

All refreshments and meals during the conference will be generously provided by the hosting institution Abegg-Stiftung. Please make sure to indicate your dietary preferences in your registration form.

What if I cannot attend the event after I register for it?

If for whatever reason you cannot attend the event, please cancel your ticket as soon as you possible so that someone else can attend. Places for this event are limited and we really appreciate your cooperation with this policy.
