'What you do doesn’t depend on you; it depends on the other fellow.'
Are you looking to enhance your performance skills? [Foreign Affairs] Theatre Company is offering a free full-day Meisner Technique taster session.
The technique developed by Sanford Meisner, uses key exercises, putting greater focus on ‘the other’ as opposed to one’s internal thoughts or feelings, helping to silence the ‘voice in your head’ and freeing you to respond impulsively to the surrounding environment. The technique focuses on truthful, moment-to-moment acting helping to experience a sensation of freedom whilst reaching emotional depth.
Developed for actors but perfect for all physical performers the technique’s focus on ‘observing and responding’ makes it an invaluable additional tool, allowing for truthful expression and lending authenticity to performance.
The workshop provides a systematic approach to acting that will boost confidence and allow you to ‘live truthfully under any given set of circumstances’.
Please note: The workshop is designed for professional actors and performers (or people currently undertaking professional performance training).
