A Theatre-goer's Footsteps Part 2 - The Royal Theatres of London
About this event
There are nearly 50 Theatres in The West End, some named after the streets they occupy, some after famous actors who played within, and many with Royal names.
For many years in London, and in the UK, theatres were licensed, approved by Royalty. Their names were often named after Dukes, Duchesses, Princes and Monarchs.
Let’s visit the locations of some of these, and find out why one Theatre had a Royal Box on wheels, and another had two Royal Boxes to keep a father and son from fighting!
As usual, we’ll be taking some shortcuts, side alleys and detours to experience London like a local!
And having worked at a few of these places I'll be sharing some personal tales, both triumphs and (mainly) mishaps!
