A Thousand Cranes is based on the true story of Sadako Saski, a young girl who loved to run but fell ill due to the effects of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, where she lived. However, an old story tells that if a sick person folds a thousand origami cranes then the gods will grant her wish and make her healthy again. Will Sadako's wish come true?
