About this Event
Please join us for an evening of storytelling and photography from 'A Thousand Word Photos' at the Arcola Theatre, Dalston, London. There are two dates available for you to chose from; February 19 or February 20 .
Each night you will hear six short stories, performed by actors against a backdrop of stunning photography. Each story was inspired by a single photograph sent to a writer with two rules - you must use the photograph as the only source of inspiration and the story must be exactly 1,000 words long.
Photographers and writers whose work will be shown include:
Photographers: Chloe Dewe Mathews, Kate Stanworth, Phil Fisk, Tim Smyth, Dan Sully, Sara Naomi Lewkowicz, Morteza Nikoubazl, Lyle Hart, Phil Sharp , Marika Kochiashvili
Writers: Toby Litt, James Young, Nicci Cloke, Martyn Bedford, Max Sydney Smith, Phil Whitaker, Amanda Huggins, Helen Bridgett & Julian Edge, Will White, Kate Hardie, Jasmine Ward
Our readers across the two nights include:
Actors: Danny Sapani, Kate Hardie, Ben Lambert, Micheal Simkins, Alan Cox, Shanon Tarbet, Amy Beth Hayes, Dan Poole, Andy Lucas, Olivia Brady and Flora Higgins.
A Thousand Word Photos is a creative project in which photographers and writers collaborate to create original fiction. The stories are shared with Interact Stroke Support, a charity that engages actors to read to patients who are recovering from strokes. Profits from the night will be donated to the charity.
We look forward to seeing you there
