Chilworth Village Hall acts as a Moviola rural cinema, and this screening of "A United Kingdom" is the sixth and final movie of our first season. This time we're going back to a Sunday evening. Doors open at 19:00, with refreshments available, and will close at 19:30 with the programme starting promptly at that time.
A UNITED KINGDOM is based on extraordinary true events. In 1947, Seretse Khama, the King of Botswana, met Ruth Williams, a London office worker. They were a perfect match, yet their proposed marriage was challenged not only by their families but by the British and South African governments. The latter had recently introduced the policy of apartheid and found the notion of a biracial couple ruling a neighboring country intolerable. South Africa threatened the British: either thwart the couple or be denied access to South African uranium and gold and face the risk of South Africa invading Botswana.

Do I have to pay by credit card?
No, but if you wish to pay at the event we do stipulate that you must be in possession of a ticket (or tickets) so that we can plan properly. To order a ticket to be paid for at the door, look for the drop-down list at checkout that says "Debit/Credit Card" and instead select "Pay at the door". Then complete the process in the normal way. If you prefer, simply send an e-mail to the organisers and they'll do it for you.
Where can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes please, as it's the simplest way for us to administer the event.
What is the refund policy?
If you have a change of plan and can't make it, we'll gladly transfer your booking to another film later in the season. If you would rather have a refund, simply e-mail your request to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will be happy to comply.
