About this event

Community • Historic

Today, St Peter’s Village is many things to many people – live, learn, shop, relax. Yet among its busy and quiet places can be found numerous reminders of historic times in the village, including several linked to its connections with a military past.

Join historian Ian Ronayne on this guided wander to discover some of these, from the story of arguably Jersey’s most famous son to the wartime son of an English family who never went home. Along the way, learn about a lost barracks, lost roads, a lost legacy and grand but now forgotten military funeral.

An easy walk for 2.5 miles on pavements and formed paths.

Meeting outside St. Peter’s Community Centre (free parking at the Community Centre), bus route 9.

Supported by The Jersey Community Foundation with funds from the Channel Islands Lottery.
