A Walk and Art - a Tale of Bideford Black
Tue 22 November 2016, 10:00 – 16:00 GMT
A day workshop to explore and express the history of Bideford Black and Brunswick Wharf through a walk, talk and communal painting with earth pigment artist Pete Ward.
The day will begin with a gentle walk around (the few) still existing Bideford Black landmarks in East the Water, including informal presentations and question and answer with Pete, an ex-miner and local experts about Bideford Black and the Wharf. This will be followed by an afternoon's paint-making and painting workshop to create a painting about Bideford Black, Brunswick Wharf and other elements that tell the tale of the history of the Wharves at East-the-Water.
All ages welcome - free to book a place but a donation of £2 per person will be collected on the day.
Bring your own packed lunch. Free coffee and tea included. Meet at Pollyfield Community Centre.
This event is part of Bideford Bay Creatives' 'Way of the Wharves' project, a one year community project researching and celebrating historical and contemporary activities and life on the Wharves at East the Water, Barnstaple Street, Torrington St and area.
Photographs will be taken on the day to document the event and may be used to promote or publciise the project in the future. Please tell us if you do not wish your photograph to be taken.
