Heritage Open Days 2017 event.

Christchurch Conservation Area includes a terrace of properties from the first half of the nineteenth century where Joseph Huntley, founder of Huntley & Palmers biscuits lived, the dramatic property where Reading brickmaker William Poulton resided when Mayor of Reading 1899-1900 and late nineteenth and early twentieth century houses around Christchurch.

The walk is mostly on level pavements but some may be uneven, please wear suitable footwear. The pace of the walk will be leisurely. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

This is an outdoor event. Be prepared for rain or sun on the day and carry water if hot. Refreshment and other facilities are only available close to the start and end of the walk on Whitley Street. The start and end of the walk is on the No 5 and 6 bus route.

Meet at the top of the east side of Whitley Street at the junction with Christchurch Road.
