About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Hiking

'A Walk in the Park' is a guided walking series hosted by Nottingham Green Guardians on behalf of Nottingham City Council.

These walks are an opportunity to show the public around some of our most favoured green spaces. We have an abundance of parks, and 54 Nature Reserves and Local Wildlife Sites across the city, so there is much to explore. Not only will we be able to look for, and discuss wild features, but also touch on the social history and heritage of our diverse spaces all whilst being in the great, urban outdoors.

Benefits of joining A Walk in the Park include:

  • Getting out in Nature
  • Socialising with likeminded individuals
  • Talk to a friendly representative from the Parks team
  • Discover places you never knew existed
  • Learn about the enviornment and local history
  • They're free!

Highfields Park is full of history, wildlife and character, gifted to the City by the Philathropist and Chemist, Jesse Boot, it's no wonder he loved is so much. We love it too, so why not come and see why, and if you already love the park, come and walk around it in good company.

Meeting place for this event is the boathouse, W3W:///land.noisy.coffee

Parking is very limited, outside Lakeside Art and Cafe.

We advise that attendees use the excellent tram and bus services where possible.

We look forward to seeing you there!
