A Walk Through the Herb Garden

Tuesday, 11th June 7 pm to 9 pm

This is an invitation to join us for the first in a series of gardening talks to be held here in the Visitor Centre at Stanwick Lakes.

We shall discover which plants might have been used to help previous Settlers build a shelter, feed their families and animals, appear more beautiful, relieve pain or even for passionate or murderous intentions!

We are thrilled to be hosting this talk and delighted that our guest speaker will be Michael Brown, who is an Historical Gardener, and writer of the bestselling book ‘Death in the Garden’.

Michael was Head Gardener of ‘The Menagerie’, Horton, and at Cosgrove Hall. He also created the Medieval gardens at Prebendal Manor at Nassington and frequently works with the National Trust and English Heritage.

This is a free event, but admission is by ticket only.

Book early to avoid disappointment.

Standard car parking charges will apply.

Arrive from 6.30 pm for tea, coffee before the talk begins. This will also be an opportunity for you to find out more about the “Settlers of the Nene Valley Project” and how you can take part in its activities over the next 2 years.

The photograph above shows our Ancestral Garden and Barn which we are constructing, using traditional methods and materials.
