A Walk with Will: Shakespeare's London
A stroll along the south side of the Thames, reflecting on the sights, sounds (and smells!) that Shakespeare's audiences would have had when visiting the playhouses of Bankside.
Find out about the other forms of entertainment that were on offer to those willing to cross the river, some not so pleasant! See where the (original) Globe was located, and hear why it and others were built on the "wrong" side of the river, far away from the City.
We'll also talk about the rejuvenation of the area, so much of it due to the present Globe Theatre, and one man in particular.
This area was the Las Vegas of Europe in Shakespeare's time...without the weather! The usual sensible footwear and waterproof clothing advice is ignored at your own risk.
Group size around 15 max. Tour will last approx 1 hr 30 mins - 2 hours, depending on group size and speed
We're extremely flexible, please contact us on details below for any special requirements
