Event description

Description

Age range:

A family day for physically disabled children of all ages, their siblings, parents and carers.

The fun to be had....?

"A Wheely Wonders Halloween" family day of forest school, farm fun and crafts, specifically designed for physically disabled children, their siblings, parents and carers, set at Applefield, a beautiful, intimate and private smallholding in Sidlesham, near Selsey.

In the morning we will be exploring the farm to meet and greet the animals. There are goats, chickens, ponies and even a donkey to see.

In the wooded area we will spend some time making sensory Halloween themed natural crafts to take home. We will make a conker worm, a colourful magic wand and decorate a no-carve pumpkin with nuts, feathers, twigs, leaves and acorns. Why not venture around our spooky walk or hunt for some creepy crawlies. We will be making a camp fire to brew some tea and enjoy some ghoulish and gooey marshmallows whilst relaxing and enjoying new company around the camp fire, before a leisurely lunch break to enjoy your picnic before an afternoon at Lizzie's Craft Club.

Lizzie's craft club is held in her custom built wheelchair accessible art studio in the garden. There are lots of Halloween themed craft items to make with Lizzie to keep and remember your Halloween family day at Applefield. You can make a trick or treat bucket, a pumpkin magnet or door hanger and also create your very own spooky picture. A drink and biscuit will also be provided during craft club. Places at Lizzie's craft club for special needs children and their siblings are funded by Wellspring West Sussex, reducing the overall cost of the day of activities at Applefield.

Price:

£15.00 per child, (siblings under 2 come free) Parents/carers do not pay for a ticket.

Things to note:

Parking will be available on the field with plenty of wheelchair access and space for lowering ramps etc.

The site is wheelchair accessible, with a wheelchair friendly toilet and changing area.

If you are staying all day, please bring a picnic with you to enjoy relaxing under the gazebo or on the field.

We can have the use of the communal greenhouse if necessary, which can be used for activities or at lunchtime.

Please contact us with any questions, we hope to see you there
