About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours
  • Ages 14+

Gelli printing is a fun experiemental kind of monoprinting rolling acrylic paints on a rubbery gelli plate, using plant materials, stencils and objects to print patterns in the paint before printing. You can let the paint dry and then do another layer or two on top, use more than one colour at once, and experiemtn to your hearts content.

Only two rules, keep the roller and gelli plate clean as well as your clothes (don't wear smart ones, bring an apron and a pack of baby wipes) as acryliucs dry rock hard, equipment is wreacked and your clothes ruined!

And the other rule?

Be willing to be playful, have a laugh and don't expect everything to come out amazing, although I guarantee you will have lots of materials to use for making collages afterwards as well as some beautiful prints!

In fact I run a workshop that is ideal for using up those less than perfect prints called " a whistlestop guide to collages". Why not book it as well?

"feedback was excellent"

"thank you for a wonderful session"

"Catherine was lovely, very helpful and encouraging"

"I am so proud of myself"

"Thoroughly enjoyed picking up a paint brush again, Catherine was very supportive"
