Event description

Description

CFCCA presents A Window On... a series of talks that will provide an insight into contemporary Chinese culture and visual art. The programme will be informed by Manchester's status as European City of Science 2016 and will explore the boundaries between art and science. The talks will be followed by Chinese tea tasting provided by our partners Proper Tea.

A Window On… China, Art and the Environment
Speaker: David Buckland

This talk will explore the relationship between art, sustainability and the environment. David Buckland is the founder of project Cape Farewell, committed to the notion that artists can engage the public with issues of climate change through creative insight and vision. Using his work in Beijing and the international festival ArtCOP21 as examples, David will discuss the power of the cultural voice in addressing climate change.

Talk: 6-7pm
Tea tasting: 7-8pm

*Price includes entry to the UAL artist in residence open studio event that evening.
