A Winter Tale: a slightly spooky flash fiction workshop

By Georgina Parfitt
Online event

Overview

Two hours of fun, atmospheric creative writing for the festive* season. *Festive = spooky, cosy, snowy, strange?

Practice the art of the short-short story in this wintery workshop.

We will:

Explore how flash works

Discover some of the best examples of it and peer into their machinery

(Begin to) master the art of structuring a short piece

Play with crafting our own little worlds

Along the way, you’ll receive thoughtful feedback on your writing.

(We will also investigate possible ways of publishing short fiction, if that’s one of your goals)

This workshop will be themed for winter, so we’ll explore how to create snowy, spooky, cosy, feast-y tales (whatever winter means to you!)

Your host: Short story writer, Georgina Parfitt, whose fiction can be found at the Dublin Review, Ambit, Washington Square Review, Granta, and in Best British Short Stories 2023, among other places.
