Description

A World View On Yorkshire – What Could The Chinese Ever Do For Us Tykes?

Jonathan Geldart - Executive Director Markets Development, Greater China, Grant Thornton International Ltd

As the UK government continues to struggle with the complexity of Brexit, and the sheer volume of laws and agreements to negotiate and manage, business has to survive in the here and now. With the world “open for business” and the British Pound cheaper than ever before, Brand UK is an even more attractive proposition to overseas investors. Amongst these are the Chinese who, although seeking good investments and being encouraged to 'go global' by their government, find managing the cultural divide as complex and frustrating as do westerners. Most Chinese deals fail not because of a gap in the numbers but because the cultural bridge cannot be crossed. Learn how to manage the complexity of managing across-borders and cultures with insights and advice from Jon Geldart who has worked internationally for over 20 years in areas such as Latin America, Africa, India, Eastern Europe and, most recently, China.
