We are thrilled to have Laura Jane Williams joining us on the 23rd of June at 7pm for something a little different from our usual events: a Writing Masterclass!
Laura describes the event as:
90 minutes with 30 mins or so for questions and discussion afterwards
- bring a notepad and your enthusiasm- no prior experience necessary (although if you've ever had an imaginary argument with somebody in your head or told your friends about something crazy that happened at work last week... you're already a storyteller!)
- class will be a series of small exercises broken down into digestible chunks, each building on the last
- by the time you leave you will have the beginning two chapters of a story!I teach with a focus on fun and curiosity, and we'll move pretty quickly. I do this so you don't have time to second-guess yourself... you'll be surprised by what we can achieve in an hour and a half!
Nice things people have said about my writing workshops:
I always leave your courses feeling like you have over-delivered in every way - Amelia
I love the focus on curiosity and play and creative expression - Molly
I’ve started seeing strangers on the streets as potential characters and I have such a greater understanding of how to tell a story. Thank you for igniting this fire under me. I’ve really enjoyed it - Cristina
This class has been such a joy. I’ve felt challenged, encouraged, and bolstered to keep up a personal writing habit outside of work. Taking this class has been the best decision I’ve made in months! - Amy
The Book we're celebrating:
Laura's new book Love at First Sight follows Jessie, who doesn’t believe in love at first sight. Until one sunny Saturday in London, a fire alarm in Whole Foods throws her into a stranger's arms. Cal is charming and funny: their chemistry is instant.
Quick-fire flirting turns into the most romantic day of Jessie’s life. But that evening they're forced apart before swapping numbers. Jessie is devastated – has she just lost the one?
After weeks of searching, Cal turns up on her doorstop holding two dozen red roses. It feels like fate.
The only thing is, they’re not for her…
This event is a Book & Ticket only event. Your ticket will include writing materials, but you are welcome to bring your own notebook and stationary as well.
