About this event

  • 2 hours

This course aims to explore the use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems when working with adults with acquired conditions.

This training aims to give you an overview of assessment, AAC decision making and implementation using an imagined case study to centre discussions. We examine how text and symbol based AAC can be used as a tool to support functional communication and/or augment speech.

This course is suitable for Speech and Language Therapists and other Health Professionals working with adult clients across the therapy pathway, including acute, rehabilitation and community settings. The session will also offer the opportunity for discussion of complex cases and how to overcome common challenges faced within these settings.

The session will be 2 hours long and held on Zoom, the joining details will be sent out prior to the day.

If there are any adjustments or support that we can provide to make this training more accessible to you please let us know.

If this course becomes oversubscribed priority will be given to professionals working in the East of England.
