The School of Art, Architecture and Design is pleased to invite you to our fortnightly Writing Retreats for AAD staff and doctoral researchers. The recurring events will take place every other Friday morning, at the same time. The initial events will be online, with a possibility of live and hybrid events at a later date.
This is a morning of dedicated writing time in a supportive and non-judgmental space, where you can work on your own writing projects: chapters, articles, reports, grant applications, PhD theses, conference abstracts, AHE Fellowships, and more. The benefits of attending a writing retreat include progressing a writing project, increased confidence levels, and learning new writing skills. A writing retreat also offers you the opportunity to join a community of practice for academic writing and writers. For more information, please read Murray and Newton (2009) article available at anchorage-education.co.uk.
PREPARATION – Ahead of the event, please decide on a writing project that you would like to develop, plan your writing tasks, and collect any notes and material you might need while writing.
