Welcome to Aalto Leaders’ Insight Event on November 29, 2017 in Singapore. The keynote speaker is Prof. Ingmar Björkman, Dean of the School of Business, Aalto University, who will share his insight on Talent Management in a Changing World.

Today’s fast-changing world means new challenges and a need for new solutions. The nature of work is changing, organizations are striving to become more agile, and the required leadership, management and professional competencies are changing as well. During the event, you will learn the organizational capabilities needed to deal with today's changes in business, and how to identify, develop, and retain talent.

About the speaker

Professor Ingmar Björkman
Dean of the School of Business, Aalto University

Ingmar Björkman was born in Finland (in 1959) but grew up in Norway. He obtained his doctorate from Hanken School of Economics in Finland in 1989.

Björkman is Professor of International Business and Dean (since January 1, 2012) of Aalto University School of Business in Finland. Ingmar Björkman has previously been Professor, Head of Department, and Vice Rector of Research at Hanken School of Economics (Finland). He has held visiting professorships at Hong Kong University, ESSEC (Paris) and INSEAD (Fontainebleau & Singapore). He has also held several long-term visiting positions at SCANCOR (Stanford University) and has taught at a number of other business schools in Europe and Asia.

His research interests focus on people management issues in an international context in particular. His work has been published in a range of leading journals within the areas of international business and management. He received the Journal of International Business Studies Decade Award in 2014 together with Dana Minbaeva, Torben Pedersen, Carl Fey, and H-J. Park. His latest book is Global Challenge: International Human Resource Management (2017, third edition, Chicago Business Press), co-authored with Vladimir Pucik (CEIBS), Paul Evans (INSEAD) and Shad Morris (Brigham Young University). Previously, he co-edited The Handbook of Research in International Human Resource Management (2012, second edition, Edward Elgar) with Günter Stahl (WU) and Shad Morris (Brigham Young University).

Björkman has received teaching awards at Hanken School of Economics, Fudan University (Shanghai), and INSEAD (Singapore).

He serves as a member of the EQUIS Committee since 2014 and as a member of the AACSB Initial Accreditation Committee since 2017.
