About this event
Who is this training for?
This half-day course is suitable for enforcement officers within duty body organisations in Scotland. It provides an in-depth look at the legislation, prevention measures and effective methods of dealing with abandoned and nuisance vehicles, by exploring case studies and best practice. Please note you must be an authorised enforcement officer to register for this course.
What certification will I get?
You will receive a certificate of attendance from Keep Scotland Beautiful.
The course carries a maximum value of 5 hours (core activity) for the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Continuing Professional Development (CPD) scheme.
How long will the training take?
This training is three hours of learning and runs from 13:00 - 16:00 on 9 December 2025.
How will the training take place?
This training will take place online via Zoom.
This course will help you to:
- Understand and work within the framework of the law
- Be able to serve all relevant notices
- Know how to arrange removal and disposal of an abandoned vehicle
- Be able to recover costs and prosecute offenders
- Recognise relevant administration procedures and structures
- Have an understanding of the End of Life Vehicles Directive and its implications

- The Removal, Storage & Disposal of Vehicles (Prescribed Sums and Charges) Amendment (Scotland) Regulations 2005

What is the cost of the training?
- £140 exclusive of VAT.

We (Keep Scotland Beautiful) will hold the information you have given us via Eventbrite in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
We will use the information you provide to process your registration for the training, send you communications about the training, including relevant follow-up information and for monitoring and reporting. We will use anonymised data for purposes including marketing and promotion.
If your attendance at the training has been organised by an organisation or company, we may share relevant information with them.
We will not record any of the training in full, however, we may take short video clips and images for use in marketing and promotion of the training. We may use the video clips and recordings for future promotion of our activities. This includes, without limitation the right to use the recordings in publicity materials, newsletters, newspapers, magazine articles, exhibitions, films, television and online (web and social media). The recordings may be made available for others to share, including partners and the press. We will give you notice in the training before we take videos or images, so you can choose whether you want to be involved in them.
We will retain data required for your certificate of attendance and any CPD hours gained for a period of four years and will then delete the information. We will store any other information you provide to us via Eventbrite for as long as we require it to complete the training and send any relevant follow-up information. We will then delete the data.
