Cissie will be exploring the parallels between Brighton and Calgary, Canada, putting creatives at the forefront of the cultural recovery, committing to a common and inclusive future.
17:00 – 17:20: Mat Hunter- Co-Founder, Co-CEO, Plus X
Creating collaborations between diverse entities is difficult to achieve. Not narrowly defined by the D&I priorities of gender, socioeconomic status, ethnic backgrounds. Mat will explore the challenges of getting corporates, academics, start-ups and local people to interact and how by building the infrastructure for innovators and entrepreneurs, will help to grow great companies, provide productive and stimulating employment for diversely talented people and drive economic growth across the UK.
17:20 – 17:40: Lefteris Heretakis MA RCA – Course leader for Graphics and illustration, Buckinghamshire New University
Lefteris will be sharing his own experiences of design and education including the collaboration of analogue and digital as well as using drawing as evidence of observation.
17:40 – 18:00: Jessica Ryan-Ndegwa - Founder, Design for Disability
Jessica strives to blur the boundaries between what it means to be disabled. Born with Cerebal Palsy she hasn’t let the condition deter her passion for life, working to raise awareness and break down the barriers of defining what disabled means in the 21st Century and how inclusion is vital in all areas of life.
Jessica will share her experiences of growing up with a disability and how she didn’t fit within the parameters of the education system.

We will also be joined by Nick Hibberd, Executive Director (Economy, Environment & Culture), Brighton & Hove City Council and Phil Jones, Managing Director, Wired Sussex
