An opening message from Cormac Russell...
Thanks to everyone who has worked so hard to grow and strengthen the base of support for asset-based community building efforts in England. My sense is that a little stewardship might be helpful over coming 12 to 24 months to grow the momentum and help us get just a little more organised. Collective efficacy is going to be important in the months and years ahead if our work is to deepen and proliferate.
That in mind I’d like to ask you to support me in taking on a more active leadership/convening role in relation to ABCD in England, until such time as ABCD in England has its own framework and direction, at which point I will step back (12-24 months).
ABCD in England
We are delighted to invite you to the 2nd gathering of ABCD in England, following on from the wonderfully hosted event on 30th June 2016 in London. The day will be split into 2 significant portions. The first part of the day will be an opportunity to celebrate Community Powered Change from across England. Following part one , will be a chance for citizens, practitioners and agency leaders to organise next steps for ABCD in England.
Who will be interested? : Any citizen, practitioner or agency leader in England with a passion for community-powered change
Meeting Venue: Hodge Hill United Reform Church, 242 Coleshill Road, Birmingham
Timings: 10.00 - 16.30*
* The Community Power Change conference closes at 14.30; turning our attention to the next steps of ABCD in England from 14.30 - 1630
Cost: To ensure an inclusive and welcoming space for all, rather than priced tickets for the conference, we'd like to adopt a pay what you can ethos. All money raised will contribute to the crowdfunding of ABCD in England.
With a limited number of places available for the day, we'd ask that each agency/initiative/community limits their tickets to a maximum of 4.
Crowdfunding* ABCD in England
The final part of the day will discuss the next steps for ABCD in England, exploring what is it we want to take forward together. In anticipation of the day, we're excited to share with you the opportunity to crowdfund any resources these next steps will require. Even if you can't make it to the day, and you're driven to support the proliferation of citizen-driven change in England then this is a chance to contribute. To do this, click on Crowdfund ABCD in England in the ticket menu.
*All money raised will be used to directly support the growth of ABCD in England.
