Description

This session is for all credit unions and aimed at Board Directors and Senior Managers. This is a fundamental part of the Board responsibilities and set out in the ABCUL Code of Governance.

The credit union will have a risk assessment policy and business continuity plan in place which outlines the way in which the credit union could continue to operate and meet

its regulatory requirements in the event of an unforeseen interruption that may otherwise prevent the credit union from operating normally. The policy will be thoroughly reviewed on an annual basis”

The aims of the session are

  • The need to focus on the continuity of the most important business services as an essential component of managing operational resilience.

  • Planning on the assumption that disruption will occur as well as seeking to prevent it.

  • An opportunity to share best practise and feed your views back on the FCA consultation.

This is following on from the TSB issues. This is the link to the FCA Consultation paper https://www.fca.org.uk/news/press-releases/building-uk-financial-sector%E2%80%99s-operational-resilience-discussion-paper
