ABE course 1 - Introduction to DNA manipulation - MidKent 2025

Schools taking part in the ABE programme can borrow research-grade lab equipment so that students can explore methods that scientists use to create biotechnology medicines, by carrying out hands-on molecular biology activities. The kit and activities are suitable for key stage 4 and post-16 specifications including GCSE, A level, T level and BTec

A teacher and a technician from the same school should attend the training together, so that both gain familiarity with the kit and student activities.

This is a one day face to face course and the training takes place 09:30 to 16:30 for both teachers and tecnicians.

A contribution of £300 to support staff attendance is available for all eligible schools, when both a teacher and technician attend the training.
