About this event

  • Event lasts 1 day 6 hours

Schools taking part in the ABE programme can borrow research-grade lab equipment so that students can explore methods that scientists use to create biotechnology medicines, by carrying out hands-on molecular biology activities. The kit and activities are suitable for key stage 4 and post-16 specifications including GCSE, A level, T level and BTec

A teacher and a technician from the same school should attend the training together, so that both gain familiarity with the kit and student activities.

This is a two day, face to face course. Day 1(2nd July) is for teachers and technicians. Day 2 (3rd July) is for technicians only. The training takes place 09:30 to 15:30 on both days.

When booking for the course, if you are a technician, please also book a place for day 2.

A contribution of £300 to support staff attendance is available for all eligible schools, when both a teacher and technician attend the training.
