1. Ticket Information

-  Tickets can be purchased at the gate from Wednesday 6th July - Ticket collection office will be within the Welcome Tent by the entrance to the tented village.

2. Schedule of play for the week


Tuesday 11th July             Hero Challenge

Due to the spectacular success of the first event last year, 8 more superstar golfers and a number of A list celebs are heading to Dundonald Links on Tuesday 11th July where they'll go head to head in this truly unique knockout competition that takes place at night and features music, pyrotechnics and lights!

Match play knock-out with head to head format on a specially created par 3 hole using the 18th hole

1700 - Gates open to the spectator village with bars, catering and exhibition units

1815 – Grandstands and viewing areas open

1900 – Celebrity Match and entertainment

1930-2030 – LIVE show

2045 – Depart

Tartan Friday

Spectators and players alike are asked to wear/bring something tartan to raise awareness of the tournaments

official charities.  There will be Official Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Official Tartan lanyards available for donations.

3. What can I eat and drink?

 The Food Court in the Tented Village will serve a variety of food options including sandwiches, pasties, burgers and there will be mobile catering vans offering fish and chips, coffees, waffles and ice Cream

On course there are further catering areas between 5th and 14th fairways and 13th where a variety of food and drink offerings will be available.

 The bars and food market will stay open for one hour after play has concluded on Saturday and Sunday with a band playing from approx. 7pm No picnics / picnic hampers allowed  .


4. Disabled facilities  

European Tour is committed to making its facilities and organised events available to as many people as possible, including those with disabilities such as visual, hearing, cognitive and motor impairments. However, it must be recognised that full access and service provision may not always be readily achievable in some circumstances, although best endeavours will always be made to provide facilities and services that are accessible by all. Where, in the judgement of European Tour, full access or service provision is not considered appropriate for any reason, including the need to protect the safety of the individual or others who may be impacted, European Tour reserves the right to prohibit or restrict access to any person.


Personal physical disability aids including service animals, walking aids, wheelchairs and single person battery powered motorised vehicles will be permitted for use at The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open but should be used in line with specific instructions and restrictions which may be applicable at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open.

Provisions at The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open will include:

  • Designated disabled/wheelchair viewing areas
    • There will be a viewing area at the 18th green
  • Suitable access to Hospitality/Catering areas provided
    • There will be a lift to The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open Pavilion.
    • All public access structures will have step free access, with the exception of grandstands.
  • Designated Blue Badge Holder Parking facilities/arrangements
    • An area will be designated for Blue badge holders to park at the front of the public car park
  • Evacuation assistance protocols for persons requiring assistance
  • Disabled toilet provisions in accessible locations
    • Step free access to designated accessible toilets in the Tented Village, On Course Catering areas, Media Centre and Hospitality Pavilion
  • Evac Chairs to assist in the evacuation of structures
  • Personal mobility vehicle hire arrangements
    • Event Mobility to be located at the front of the public car park, adjacent to the designated blue badge parking area. Details for reservations can be found at

-                   Policy applies to Registered Disabled persons 

-                   Car parking: Designated area in front of the Public Car Park for blue badge holders, adjacent to the entrance tent

-                   Viewing on the course: A designated viewing area will be available for wheelchair users on the 18th hole

-                   Access to tents: All public facilities may be accessed via ramps

-                   Toilets: There will be disabled toilets located within the tented village. 

-                   Use of buggies / scooters:  Shopmobility will be renting scooters from the entrance to the tented village.  To pre-book please call 01463 717 624 or email

Those who do use scooters do so entirely at their own risk. Scooters will not be allowed on the lower section of the golf course, due to the severe incline on the route to this section of the course. Users will be issued with a guide map of the venue which identifies suitable routes for scooter users.

6. Getting to the course



It is only 10 minutes from Glasgow Prestwick Airport, 30 minutes from Glasgow International Airport and around 1.5 hrs from Edinburgh International Airport.


From Glasgow: take the M77 south towards Kilmarnock/Ayr. At the Dutchhouse Roundabout, follow signs for the A78 Irvine. Head north on the A78 towards Irvine for 5 miles and at the next roundabout take the second exit on the left. The entrance to Dundonald Links is half a mile along on the left hand side. Please follow signs for Dundonald Links (not Dundonald Village).

From Prestwick Airport: take the A78 towards Irvine and after 5 miles on this road at the first roundabout take the second exit on the left. The entrance to Dundonald Links is half a mile along on the left hand side.


There are regular train services from Glasgow stopping at Prestwick. Local taxis are available to transfer golfers to Dundonald Links with a typical fare approximately £15.

There is a complementary  coach service from Irvine Station to the course starting at

06:30 am until 20:00
