Aberdeen Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat. Screening & Networking Evening
Mon 20 February 2017, 17:30 – 19:30 GMT
On the evening of 20th February the STEM Ambassador Hub at the Aberdeen Science Centre will be collaborating with the Stemettes to screen an exclusive preview of their brand new documentary Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat.
We are inviting teachers, STEM ambassadors and local employers to see the 30-minute film, discuss issues around gender in STEM careers, build new network connections and enjoy some snacks!
Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat. is a revealing documentary about young female tech entrepreneurs and their journey against shocking industry statistics. STEM industries are crucially missing a key demographic - only 14% of those working in the UK’s STEM industries are women. The documentary is set at the first of its kind Outbox Incubator - a Dragon’s Den meets Big Brother house - where over 6 weeks, 120 girls, aged 11-22, developed their STEM business ideas, grew in confidence and most importantly, had a lot of fun! We hear from future innovators about tech, entrepreneurship and why the industry has to change. The film is a heart-warming exploration into what would happen to the world if more girls were to Eat. Sleep. STEM. Repeat.
You can watch the trailer on Youtube here.
We want to keep the #EatSleepSTEM chain reaction going, so we are also inviting you to host your own preview screening at your school or company. We will share more information about how you can do this on the evening.
