Event description

Description

Join the Aberdeen Foyer Sleep Out on Thursday 23rd November, 7pm -7am, yes it's an all nighter!

We're asking you to swap your bed for a sleeping bag for just one night, and take to the streets for homeless young people. This amazing challenge raises funds and awareness of youth homelessness.

The Sleep Out is a unique national fundraising event for homeless and disadvantaged young people in the UK. Aberdeen Foyer is working in partnership with organisations across the country as part of the End Youth Homeless collective and Sleep Out aims to raise money and bring a national voice to one of the UK's most pressing social issues.

When? Thursday 23rd November 2017 from 7pm—7am
Where? Sir Ian Wood House (car park), Harness Road, Aberdeen, AB12 3LE
Why? The purpose of Sleep Out is to raise money and awareness of the issues of youth homelessness and NOT to match the sense of danger, hopelessness and hunger which many young homeless people face.
What do I have to do? For just one night, swap your warm comfortable bed for a sleeping bag and a cardboard mattress to experience a night sleeping outside during a North East winter.

How much should I raise? The target is £150 per person. The sponsorship money raised is absolutely vital for us to maintain our frontline services, supporting young homeless people to build the personal skills and resources required to make a positive and healthy transition to adulthood, while avoiding or moving on from homelessness.
