Aberdeen Harbour Board - The Future
Event Information
About this event
Aberdeen Harbour’s £350 million expansion is in its final year of construction, and all marine-based activities at the project site are now complete. The expansion – which is the largest marine infrastructure project in the UK – is due to open in October 2022, and will be critical to the development of offshore wind and other renewable sectors in the North East of Scotland.
The expanded port in Aberdeen will significantly bolster the economy in the North East of Scotland, and contribute a further £0.9 billion GVA to the Scottish economy by 2035. South Harbour has been built with larger, wider, and deeper ships in mind, and incorporates considerable heavy-lift laydown space, making it an ideal port for industries such as offshore wind and decommissioning. The port is supported by the extensive and experienced supply chain which will be critical for these industries in the future.
Bob Sanguinetti joined Aberdeen Harbour in 2021 at a critical time in its history, and together with the team at Aberdeen Harbour Board, will ensure the project reaches its completion stage in 2022.
Aberdeen Entrepreneurs are proud to host the new CEO Mr Bob Sanguinetti and hear how this exciting new development will enhance the economy of Aberdeen and its environs for years to come.
