Accessibility Arrangements at the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open
The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open is committed to providing a high standard of accessible
facilities for all visitors. We will have a team of volunteers working from the information centre in the Spectator
Village who can help meet individual needs. This document though outlines the key considerations that have
been made.
Parking
Blue Badge holders who are attending The Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open will be able to park in
Car Park 2. Car Park 2 is located on the Gullane Junior Golf Course, as per the map below and will be clearly
signposted from the A198.
The route from car park 2 is depicted in the map below as a red and orange line. Head along Main Street, then into the championship through the West Links Road Entrance. Once through the entrance the Spectator Village is immediately on the left.
Blue badge holders, who are not wheelchair users, please proceed to the public car park where there will be an
exclusive parking area at the front. From here a complimentary bus service will take spectators to the Sandy
Loans Entrance. Some of the buses will have mobility assistance.

Event Mobility are on site from Wednesday 11th July through to Sunday 15th July 2018 inclusive
and will have mobility scooters available for a hire fee of £25. For advanced bookings, go to
www.eventmobility.org.uk or call 01386 725391.
The European Tour recommends that wheelchair users enter via the West Links Road
Entrance. Scooters will be available for collection from a tent at the entrance to the
Spectator Village, this can be found 100 metres from the West Links Road Entrance. Please
see the map above.
Many of the pathways around the Gullane Championship course are very steep and some
are too dangerous to allow safe use of scooters. Access to the course is via a tarmac road
up the left hand side of the 1st hole. Holes 4, 5 and 6 are very steep and are not accessible
with a scooter. There is a tented village on top of the hole adjacent to the 10th Tee,
accessible toilet facilities are located here.

Access to Facilities
All tented facilities within the Spectator Village are fitted with ramps for access.
Toilet Facilities
Disabled toilet facilities are also available within the tented village and on course catering
area.
Viewing Areas
A reserved wheelchair viewing area will be built and reserved overlooking the 17th & 18th
greens.
Assistance Dogs
Spectators with guide dogs or hearing dogs will be welcome at the Scottish Open.
