About this Event

The University's Lead Voices for Race invite all Abertay staff who are black, or of Asian or minority ethnic origin to join them for an informal gathering to network and discuss experiences and common interests. A light buffet lunch will be provided.

All staff - whether they're academic or support, new or long-serving - are welcome.

Drop-ins are welcome but to help gauge catering requirements , registration would be appreciated.

What is Lead Voices?

The University has recruited volunteer staff members and students to act as general ‘advocates’ or ‘lead voices’ for people with particular protected characteristics; connecting the management with the wider student and staff community, but - crucially - acting in a peer-to-peer way and thus helping to articulate various staff and student views and share these with management, especially with respect to equality impact assessment of University policies and decisions.

We want all members of our community to have opportunities to be heard and take part in decision-making, so that managers are properly connected to the life experiences of everyone.

More information is available at: https://abertay.co/LeadVoices or by emailing race-leadvoices@abertay.ac.uk.
