About this event

We’re crocheting . . .

Peanut! A super-soft squidgy bear. A lovey, a comforter or perhaps just a softie.Made with chunky soft chenille yarn using only the most basic of crochet stitches and techniques including magic rings, join-as-you go for more secure joins and sew-as-you-go to hide all the messy finishing stuff inside. Both techniques are perfect if you struggle with hand stitching and adding details.

We'll take things slow and steady over a few weeks to make this suitable for beginners.

This crochet-along is suitable for . . .

Adventurous beginners (very much still learning, but confident to try something a little harder)

Anyone interested in Amigurumi or making softies

Refreshing forgotten skills

Anyone just looking for some creative company

Classes take place in The Summerhouse with a maximum of 3 guests!

Taking this workshop is me, Sharon Goodwin from Sew Silly Lily. I'm a graduate of Glasgow School of Art with a lifelong passion for textiles, craft and design. I’m a self-taught crocheter, constantly playing, still discovering and excited to share tips, advice and all the useful things I've learned along the way.

Frequently asked questions

I'm left handed - will this class be suitable for me?

I teach right handed and unfortunately I don't have the skills to teach left handed students, but we can try mirroring?

Do I need to have done any crochet before?

All the stitches are simple and the techniques are suitable for crochet beginners.
