Description

Please note that although Phoenix Art Space remains closed due to the corona-virus situations, we are still selling places on our summer arts courses. However due to the uncertain nature of these events, we cannot guarantee that all courses will go ahead and dates are subject to change.

We will endeavour to reschedule these courses rather than cancel and will be in touch with ticket holders as the situation progresses. We will follow the official guidelines regarding social distancing, and this will form the basis of any decisions we make.

Stay up to date via our website, social media channels and by joining our mailing list here.

For more information about our position on cancellations please read our full statement here.

Working with clay, you will learn how to translate botanical forms into an expressive, abstract ceramic sculpture. You will learn how to handle clay and use it to reflect nature in an expressive way. Different types of flora, from pine cones to seasonal flowers, exotic and native fruits will be used as inspiration. This is not a figurative course, instead you will be encouraged to use your imagination to create something abstract yet inspired by nature.

Being open to creativity is all you need as this course will provide you with the ability to express yourself and imaginatively experiment with clay. By the end of the course you will have a unique, creative ceramic piece or sculpture to take home.

This course is suitable for all levels including beginners.
Most materials will be provided but please bring the following: A4/A3 sketchbook, pens and pencils.
Please note: your work will be fired after the course finishes and will be available for you to come and collect the following weekend.

Costs: £100
Days: 1 weekend
Times: 10.30 - 17.00
Dates: Saturday 18 & Sunday 19 July
Room: White
Maximum: 10
