About this event

Abundance Festival is a down-to-earth celebration of community, craft and good food. Drop in for a couple of hours or stay all day - try a quick workshop, sample juice from rescued fruit, listen to local artists, and meet the groups making Manchester greener and kinder.

What to expect

• Talks: Learn about the food system, veganism and building community from experts around the country!
• Hands-on workshops throughout the day: Willow weaving with TV star Willow Sculptor Cherry Chung; Fermenting workshop with vegan Chef Ngwafu and much much more
• Press Your Own Juice for Free using locally picked apples and pears
• Live music: Reggae, Folk, Jazz and Soul music from local artists. Featuring Green Manc, Calypso George and many more!
• Vegan food & cake stalls: Vish and Chips, Abundance Apple Pies, Gillie's Chinese Food, Tea Time Collective cakes and much more!
• Family-friendly activities: juggling, a Tai Chi session, Mr Blooms Puppets, and interactive learning with environmental charities.
• Community stalls from student groups, co-ops and local projects.

After the event

Abundance isn’t just a festival; it’s a year-round community. We run free, friendly sessions - like willow weaving, open discussions and cooking lessons with surplus fruit - and weekly fruit-rescue picks where we collect spare fruit from local gardens and share it with the community. If you’ve been looking for a way to meet people and do something useful (without spending loads), this is for you.

Alongside our weekly fruit picks, we are starting to build an active community presence in Manchester. Our aim to the invite people to join us for a lovely night of free food, discussion and music two weeks after the event. More information will be available during the event.
