Description

The Afghanistan and Central Asian Association (ACAA) is holding its annual Refugee Week Festival! The event will showcase the diverse cultures of refugees, highlighting their unique contribution to the local community through a cultural festival.

Join us for a day of celebration in the lovely June weather!

The entertainment will comprise of live music performances by prominent Afghan artists, in addition to music from various genres such as reggae, soul and indie rock. Cultural dances from numerous groups, fashion shows, and much more will also be on display during the festival. There will also be an inspirational story from a refugee who will be sharing their trials, tribulations and successes. Also, children from a Saturday school in partnership with the ACAA will be reading out their own poems.

Activities such as henna, face painting, cookie decorations, sporting events and balloon animals will provide ample entertainment for families to enjoy!

Of course, who can forget about the food? Delicious delicacies from all over the world, alongside ice cream and burger vans, candy floss, slush puppies, and vegan food are just some of the options that will be available.

Doors open at 10am, festivities start at 12pm and end at 8pm.
