Target Audience: Science

As you may have heard, the University has been engaged on a project to refresh and review the academic promotions framework. An important aspect of this project is to consider whether the titles currently in use (e.g. Senior Lecturer, Reader), still maintain the recognition (both domestically and internationally) they once did.

Before any further steps are taken, we are keen to hear the views of our academic community, and to that end 4 online events will be held on the 14th and 15th September to gather the views of our community regarding the proposed titles. Following these meetings, a paper will go to Senate, who will be asked to approve the recommended changes, which will depend on your feedback.

The events will be on-line only, as we want as many people to be able to attend as possible, so please sign up to the appropriate meeting for your cluster,

In the interests of openness the draft paper that would go to Senate is attached here, so please read this as it contains some important information, but to be clear at this stage the focus of the events will be on the academic titles. Further consultation on the other aspects contained within the paper will happen in due course.

Academic Titles Modernisation Feedback Session - Science
